Glue residue left on rail.

What would be the best way to get rid of glue residue that is left on the rail facing after removing bumpers? I was considering either an electric sander or shaving off 1/64th of an inch with an expensive table saw that is very accurate? Maybe both ways would be wrong?

Thanks!

It is a Brunswick table. I would say it is 12-15 years old but in very good condition. Regarding the acetone...I hadn't even considered that...maybe that is the right thing to do?

Just saw that I said GOOD off up above...I meant GOOF Off. That stuff will take anything off. Just use in a well ventalated area.

In my limited experience adhesive remover works quite well. Home Depot Lowes or most hardware stores have it..

Rubber Jobs

When we do rubber jobs we use a palm sander and a chisel. If youre in a hurry soak the wood in some lighter fluid for a few seconds, and it will be easy to get off. this will be cheaper and faster than using name brand stuff.
