What glues and epoxys are you guys using for varios repairs and builds. I don't need a full list im sure you have a few just the ones you really like working with.

Devcon or West system and Loctite 401/professional/gel.
I dont build whole cues, so thats the glues/epoxys I use for ferrules, rings and tips.
I have gorilla glue and epoxy too, but I haven`t tested it yet.

ferrules .............. Max 5 min epoxy
tips...................... loctite control gel .... silver bottle
inlays................ Max 1618
butt caps and joint caps .... Max 5 min epoxy
core dowels......... gorilla glue
Veneer stacks....... Titebond II

ferrules = 5-min epoxy

tips = loctite ultra-gel

veneers to each other = west-system slow setting epoxy

the miter joint in veneers = Elmer's glue

gluing the veneers into the prong = West system slow setting epoxy

all other places on the cue is West-system slow drying epoxy

Max bond 5 min : ferrules and joint
Max bond 1618 : inlays, sealing, gluing veneers.
Loctite gel for tips
Max bond marine /industrial epoxy (very slow setting) for gluing points, a joint, butt sleeve etc.

Since using the Max Bond from polymer products I have never looked back on west system. West Is a great epoxy but max bond is my preference now.

401

After using 401, I will NEVER go back to gel...EVER.

I don't care that is costs 5 times as much. I know nothing's going to fall off.

For fun, and to see how good it is, I took a triangle(or Lepro...) that was laying(literally, maybe on floor) around and a rough finish ferrule. No prep. I didn't sand the tip flat, scuff, or even wipe with degreaser.

I let it sit for about 5 mins vertically. No clamping.

First I pushed up on the corner of tip. Couldn't knock it off.

Then I held it in my hand and tried a pair of Channel Locks. That had to work...right?
Yah NO.

I had to clamp the ferrule in a vise and, with Channel Locks, rip it off. Even then, the bond didn't fail. The tip ripped in half.

Randy, buy on ebay. It is much, much cheaper. I ordered 3, 20 gr bottles for 3.85 each with free shipping.
