I was fortunate enough to have met and know many military veterans , my dad was the past Commander of both the American Legion as well as the Veterans of Foreign wars .
So guess where I was every Memorial Day I was helping load clips for the firing squad and anything else that needed to be done which I gladly did .
If you have never taken the chance to meet and visit with a military veteran please do , I'll be surprised if you don't come away with a deeper understanding and respect for the sacrifice that they were willing to do to insure our way of life and the freedom we sometimes take for granted .
