Hi. I'm looking for photos of original Brunswick Gold Crown 1 rails. In particular, I'm looking for rails with good, original wood laminate/veneer. Trying to find a modern replacement that looks as correct as possible for color and pattern/grain. Wilsonart makes several laminates that look very similar (at least to my eye) but I would love to have some photos of good original rails to compare to. Does anyone have any good GC1 rails with good, original laminate that shows the true color/graining? All the vintage photos I've seen give me the impression that they were trying to mimic mahogony or walnut from the factory. Anyone know for sure? Thanks!

In my opinion Brunswick was trying for the Brazilian Rosewood look on that laminate of their Gold Crown tables. Below is a listing on ebay of a Gold Crown I that appears to have pristine rail laminate. The pic below is an example of the Brazilian Rosewood. I could be mistaken but I think Mark Gregory builds rails for Centennials and Anniversaries using Brazilian Rosewood. Here is a link to a source for Bolivian Rosewood. Looks very similar to Brazilian and comes in 1/8" thickness. I think those would be the best looking GC rails in the world.
