WOW!!!! what a nice job

Hi, Man are you doing it right this table will look spectacular. independent of any posts or threads I have read although I may of saw a picture years ago I am doing a similar refinish. I will be using my side skirts just the way they came out with light stain and clear finish. Mine kind of remind me of 1960's long surf boards made by Hobie.

Can I ask what you used to get that fantastic black piano finish?

Is that a veneer on the sides of the base or did you just sand and finish? Mine are in the dark brown paint stage right now.

Did you strip with a stripper product or just power sand?

The curly or tiger maple you will add to the side skirts will be fantastic!!

woops should of read all your posts

Sounds like you will be putting that veneer on the top rail instead of the side skirts. I can't wait to see this finished.

just started my sanding

Just started on mine today the sides of one base are done. Had about a 6 inch natural wood blemish might of been a knot or maybe rot anyway I'll call it a slight blemish that will add character.

I assume the center of the base is not worth stripping because I don't see any posts that show the whole base stripped.

I'll take some pictures and post them when I'm done. meanwhile I wish someone would buy my old 8X4 Murrey to make room for the gc1.

All the best,

Allen
