Gold Crown 3 restore

I purchased this Gold Crown 3 from someone I knew.
It's in rough shape with incorrect skirts which had a 10mm gap all around and the corners would bow out as they were too long.
I believe the skirts were of a GC4 maybe someone can make a comment

All panels were stripped down and repaired

Someone had lifted up the table from the leg support and damaged the plywood.
I cut out the damage and glued in a new section.
I had to do 3 of these repairs to the leg supports.

You can see here that Brunswick got the vertical dowel installed crooked

I power coated all of the brackets

There were multiple slate holes which were filled with dowel and glue

The brackets were fitted with stainless steel bolts and nylon nuts

I had to do several trial installs to get these just right.

Using a router and a jig to cut out and lower the name plate

I made the triangle holder bracket out of 8mm round bar and bent it by using a vice.
I'm still waiting to get this back from the chrome plater

Sub rail extensions glued and pinned
This is the first time I've done these there were lots of angles to consider.
What I did was over size the extension then finished them off by sanding them to the existing sub rail

With the skirts I got rid of those crappy bracket screws and installed insert nuts

The alloy bracket which now bolt into the insert nuts makes a really nice install and is way stronger

Shout out to Simonis for sending me some cloth samples.
1 sample is in Gold and the other sample is in Camel
I chose the Gold cloth which is on the left

The gold cloth tends to change colour slightly depending on the light. However for a white table it look gorgeous

This is one of the most beautifull Brunswick restorations/rebuilds I have ever seen. Congrats on this achievement.
I think I'm jealous ...

Sharing the results of a two-year restoration project.

Removed years of dirt, bad paint jobs, Formica and mismatched parts. Remade frame elements. Stripped it right back, sourced original and custom parts from the US, Germany, Taiwan, Ireland & the UK, repainted, and designed new logos and decals.

The goal of the restoration was to tie it into the interior of the house and to have an activity for the family (3 young boys) to play together. A local snooker table tech helped me level expertly, and it plays like a dream.

It was a lot of work, but we think the work paid off...
