Gold Crown 4 - question...?

I found a Gold Crown 4 (9ft) from a local bar for $1400. Price includes deliver, but does not include new cloth or a mechanic putting it together.

My question for this forum is, is that a good price, or should I hold out to see what else is out there.

I'm in no rush, and want a high quality "players" table.

Advice welcome...

Sounds like a decent price, but it might be pretty beat up if it was in a bar for a long period of time, so check out the condition thoroughly. If you find some issues, you might be able to get the price down. If you purchase, just make sure to get a reputable installer who will check thoroughly to see if you may need new cushion rubber or very likely at least need to get the cushion rubbers reglued, new facings, etc. If you do that and get new Simonis, you should have a great playing table delivered, and set up for under $2500.

the gc 4 is one of the best. if you are sure that is what it is. it is a 9,000 dollar table new.
even so if its beat up do you want that in your house. that your decision. but i would buy it. you likely would only find an older in bad shape one for less.
of course you can get lucky and wait but some wait forever looking and never get a table.

i would offer 1000 and have my own man deliver the table. rather than some people he gets who may do more harm than good to it bringing it to you. even if i paid full price i would have my own installer pick it up.
and get a real pool table installer not the guy that sets up bar tables on the side.

Ten years ago I bought a GC IV. It came out of a pool hall without much use. Mint condition and when the new Simonis went on it was the very first time it was ever recovered. But as others have said, get a quality mechanic to deliver and set it up. It will be worth it.

There are Frankentables out there, you don't want that.

I had an Ex-Pool hall black GC4 for ten years before I had to move. Great table and plays close to a blue label Diamond. They are great tables

You are just bragging

You’ve been here long enough to know that’s a great deal. $200 deposit holds table until you can get a good mechanic to check it out. Then he takes it down and installs it at your place. Assuming said mechanic likes it. If not you get deposit back. If they don’t like terms, just whip out $1200 and buy it. I know it’s a chunk, once you get another grand into it. Great table, great deal. Is it still available, or did somebody jump? By the way, I just did a search, didn’t find one. Not within 500 miles of me, at any price.
