I have an appointment to look at the above table next week.
Would like some advice on what I should look for, be aware of, and questions to ask.
The table is a 9 footer and has been professionally disassembled. This is from a private party.
TIA
Tim

If the slate is brunstone, pay special attention to it's condition. More brittle than slate.

Look for damage around the dowels that join the three pieces. Also look for fractures around the rail bolt holes. If the bolts were over torqued, it could cause damage.

Make sure the skirts, aprons and railblinds are a matched set. If they're mismatched, you'll have a hard time getting everything to line up.

Download and print off the install manual PDF. If you're familiar with it, you'll know what could be missing.

This should get you started - good luck.

How will I know if it's brunstone or slate?
and also how will I know if everything is a matched set?
From the pictures, which I'm deft at attaching, looks like things are in very good condition.
What would be a good price range assuming it needs new felt and most likely rubber?
Oh and thanks for your help.

I'll PM you my number - easier to discuss over the phone.

If its original, it has brunstone, which isn't really a bad thing. Look at the bottome of the rails, there's a 3 letter serial number, should be the same on the bottom of all the rails. Unless you plan on tightening the pockets the cushions ar3 more than likely in good condition, so don't get caught up in replacing them for no reason.

1st thanks for all the input.
If I do make a deal on this table, can the slates which are crated in wood, be transported flat or do they need to be moved on edge upright?
