Police: Men Fired Shots Into San Marcos, TX Bar

Two San Marcos men were arrested early Sunday morning and charged with deadly conduct after police say they fired several rounds from a shotgun into a downtown bar, police said in a statement.

Cyrus Jonathan Romero, 21, and Frank James Henggeler Jr., 21, were arrested after a short pursuit, the statement said. Nobody was injured in the shooting, police said.

According to police, officers heard numerous gunshots coming from an area around 200 block of West San Antonio Street about 12:45 a.m., the statement said.

Witnesses told officers that men in a red sport-utility vehicle had been seen firing a shotgun into the Gold Crown Billiards at 205 West San Antonio, the statement said. One round entered the front window of the bar before lodging in a back wall, the statement said.

The vehicle was spotted, the statement said, and Romero and Henggeler were arrested after a short chase.

During an investigation, witnesses told officers they had located a shotgun that had been tossed from the SUV during the chase, the statement said.

Henggeler and Romero have been charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony, and possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, a Class B misdemeanor, the statement said. Henggeler was also charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle, a State Jail Felony. Romero is being held in the Hays County Law Enforcement Center on $42,000 bail, and Henggeler is being held on $47,000 bail, the document said.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier altercation in the bar between the suspects and other people, the statement said. Police are seeking information about the altercation and the other people, the statement said.

Anyone with information is asked to call San Marcos police at (512) 753-2300.

Yep, they're boneheads...

That's what I was thinking as well. That's the place I played out of when I was living back home in CT...The Gold Crown Billiards in New London.
