gold crown identification?

Well just from those pics, I can tell you that the ball box is a Gold Crown. As far as the rails, it looks like the metal trim on them looks to be form a GC1 or GC2, hard to say for sure with out looking under them tho. The rails could have been re-laminated in a past life.

9 foot Brunswick Gold Crown tables are pretty the most sought after used table. Good deals on them can be had if you are patient and keep your eyes open. There are some really good AMF tables also, I am not real familiar with them, but I know there are some out there. Good luck. Post more pics as you find tables and hopefully we can help you out.

First off I'm not a mechanic. Prices vary a lot depending on a bunch of things. Location is one. I live in the tri-state area (NY, NJ & CT) and prices tend to be high no matter what people are selling. Second, sometimes people don't know what they have or the true value of what they are selling. Ebay GC pricing for anything in my area varies anywhere from $1350-$3800. That is a huge range. I prefer craig's list. I found my gc3 listed as a brunswick pool table with no other description & one photo (from which I coudn't tell what it was) I emailed the guy & asked him to send me better pics. Long story, short version. I bought my GC3 one owner, never in a pool hall, ORIGINAL cloth for $750. Granted it took me a year and a half to find it, but I wasn't going to shell out $2000 for a beat up GC. Just my 2 cents. Patience & diligence & maybe willingness to travel.

Good post. I sell re-built crowns in the TRI state area. I would recommend locating a reputable mechanic to help in your search. Appearance is deceiving with these tables. These tables have a history of worn or damaged rail components due to improper service. This is hard to see or hear by testing the rails with a ball.
