I'll play gomez w/ the breaks n if i make a ball i win...after his preformance today i'm still unsure lol
 
I hope he will be able to obtain a visa and come to USA for the Derby City, I would like to see him play SVB some ten ball for cash stakes. He has game and makes me wonder if he's the next Efren to come from Manilla.

I'm not sure if he's the one they are all talking about that matches up pretty well against Efren in 1P, playing him even that is. even one of the commentators (think it was Bob G.) mentioned that with the way he's playing and executing shots, he can play some serious deadon 14.1. any thoughts?

I believe Mr. Jay Helfert can give us a more in-depth assessment of Gomez since he's in touch with the guy personally. watcha say Jay?
 
I saw R.Gomez early this year at a tourny in Oslo (hi Roy! :)), and there was a side tourny of 14.1. this guy said he played only 1 or 2 times 14.1 and on his second try he made a run of 70+. Not to mention that there was 2 filipinos there and Roy organised a 9 ball tornament , guess who played the final :).
 
He is the one Roy Steffenson (sp) said played Efren even one pocket and has had trouble getting a visa to the USA.

Superman was also the guy who was ranked number 1 after the elimination phase in last year's WPC. He has won all his 7 games. The format then was the number 1 player will play the no. 64. Guess who number 64 was? It was Ronnie Alcano. :cool: Tough luck for him.

I hope he gets his US visa soon so we can see more of him. Even if he does not win this tournament, he has made a name for himself already.
