Parents just bought a new All-in-one printer and a webcam. I just got everything installed and working. I am starting to scan a bunch of pool related pictures to upload and share. I will make some pool videos soon to share and enter the CueTable Contest.
:D

Have you finished your homework??????randyg
You bet I finished my homework. I have been working hard the last few days after poolschool. :D It is paying off. I had 2 four-packs for the first time ever. I recorded a few runouts and two nineballs on the snap. I am trying to upload it on youtube.com, but it is giving me trouble. :(

if you cant figure out the upload process on youtube you'd be like every other guy.

Hi Tanner:

What kind of trouble?
What format are the files saved in?
Any special compression codec used?

To my understanding YouTube compresses your video while it uploads. Sometimes it will hang up during the process.

It has length or size limitation for uploading. However, I recall watching video that's about 45 minutes long before. :)

Just in case, here is their help page: http://youtube.com/t/help_makevideo

wmv format
I have tried compressing and not compressing the file and uploading it. It will get to a percent around 10-40 and it will just sit there. It is 45mb and 7 minutes long. I am going to upload it to megaupload.com and see if anyone else can upload it for me.

Btw, is the video from the webcam? It is possible the webcam software saves the video in wmv format with their own proprietary codec. Video saved with that codec might not be able to show on a computer which does not have that codec in the system.

In short, a codec is a compression method used by either software or hardware (or both) to save the video in for many different reasons (performance, space-saving, quality, streaming, etc). It is different from "video format" ( .mov, .wmv , .ru , etc).

AFAIK there are a lot of different codec's for wmv.

Tanner sent me the video, It is only a few seconds long, so far but he is on his way to being a pool playing entrepreneur.

All he needs is a sponsor (Hint to all cuemakers and related merchandiser reading) that he can put in big BOLD letters and or logo on the back of his shirt! :D

I have two videos successfully upload on youtube and are now processing. I was thinking of making a cd/dvd with 100 runouts and sell that for a small fee. I could sell advertising on the back of my shirt for that video. :D
