After reading all the posts on the first one, i didnt hear one person Mention a guy by the name of Jason KirkWood, if anyone goes to the Expos in chicago or Philly, they know who he is.

Another guy who is probably a notch down from Jason is a friend of mine Dirk VanderPloeg.

And of course Dirk and Jason are both friends and shoot together often.

i think jason is a known player.......thats probably why he wasn't mentioned in the unknowns thread.

I honestly dont know how well he is known, i mean up here in Michigan, he at any tournament is basically the guy to beat.

And I would also think a player getting his name spread around would deal in the area's he plays in, and if he travels to other states for tournaments too.

Now Dirk on the other hand he goes to tournaments still and nobody knows who he is. He told me about a APA tournament in Canada he went to with some friends, just to gamble and do some Mini-tournaments while he was there. And he was buying himself in the Calcutta for 10$ and winning all the Mini's he got into.

There is another young kid i wanna say he is from Kalamazoo or Battle Creek area, but not sure. I think he is like 17 or 18 maybe. And he is almost playing at Dirk's speed.

The last big 9ball tournament that was held where i play at, this kid beat Juan Garcia 9-4 i believe. I wanna say this kids name is Ryan Balk but i am not 100% sure.
 
Most of the Road players in this country know most of the good players .After he played a bar box tournament in JOB in Madison,TN few years ago,Jason Kirkwood ( from Grand Rapids,MI)was recognized by all the champions.I know about him even before the JOB tournament.There is Richie Smiegal from Bay city( Where Madona was born),MI who also can play even with any champion.

I mentioned Jason Kirkwood in the best bar box player thread, but he hardly qualifies as unknown.
 
Jason Kirkwood has been known in Toledo as a champion and a "known" player for years. He ran with a guy a while back that played real good named Eric Brown

FYI: This year at the Glass City Open Jason beats Nick Varner 10 - 1 !!!
