Noticed this Photo of a VFP (Very Famous Player) with his Jack Justis Case on the Shoulder. if you have a Justis Case and can answer a Question it would be appreciated.

Are Jack Shoulder Strap really that Long, as it appears to being the photo, and it Appear the Shoulder Pad is CAPABLE of Sling up and dow the Strap for Comfort.

I have been carrying my Case back and Forth to the Pool Room as part of my Diet Routine, and this Strap & Pad System appear much more USER Friendly than what I got.

Also ...

I have a question about the Pro-Lite series, whether
the slots for the butts and shafts keep them very
snug where they don't jiggle around.

Looks like the standard length strap to me. I carry my case the same way (with the strap clipped to the carry handle) and I use a pad made by Domke. Domke pads are for camera bags, but it works great for cuecases too.

Jack is a real nice guy who will be happy to answer any questions with no pressure on you to buy anything. Drop him a line at jjustis4@aol.com. My guess is he will be happy to build a case to any specs requested.

He also has a nice web site: http://members.aol.com/jjustis4/

I second that. A couple of things though. Jack leaves for the DCC on sunday and doesn't get back until the 14th so if you e-mail him after saturday and perhaps he doesn't get back to you right away you know why. And if you check out his website make sure you don't use firefox as your browser. While it is my favorite, some pictures don't show up. Use IE and you'll be fine.

The pad and strap in the photos are standard. The new pad is softer than the old pad, and it has more friction so the case won't tend to slip off.

You can shorten or lengthen the strap as you would a belt. I normally have it in the completely shortened length, but the way it's shown in the photo is the way Jack recommends to configure the strap if you were to sling the case over the shoulder.

Hi Scott,
I think they actually fit better in the ProLite interior than they did in my earlier case.

The sewn liners keep the butts and shafts separated but are resilient just enough to allow movement without rattling as they will sometime do in a tube type case. I have always maintained that too tight a fit is not good either as it puts extra friction against the finish every time you remove the cue out and place it back in the case. This becomes greatly magnified in a tube type case if you allow the inside of the tubes to become embedded with chalk and other debris. I am not saying this happens overnight but over a long period of time it will occur. I have seen the finish on expensive cues take on sort of a "haze look" as a result of fitting too tight in the tubes regardless of how soft the liner may be.

Fred,

The pad isn't standard. It's an extra $30 I believe, but well worth it.

PS,

Anything you order from Jack is well worth the price because these cases are truly unique and exceptional in quality. When I decided I *needed* something really special to house my custom Szamboti, I went to Jack. We designed a case that compliments my cue and then some.

Jack and Toots are truly a class act with a class product.

Barbara~~~Fred's mad at me :(

We will not be there this year.....our youngest daughter is scheduled to deliver a grandson on March 17th and I would not miss that event for anything. We do plan on attending the event in August though.

That's GREAT!!

I can not blame you. I wouldn't miss that for the world either! But I was hoping to see some of the new Pro-Lites. I would like to pick one of these up real soon. Thanks for the reply and an early congrat's on the Grandson!

Pad

I don't carry my case with the strap through the carry handle. I did buy the pad and I think it is good. The strap loosens up quite a bit and gives a lot of room. I predominately use the shoulder strap and the case cants out at an angle a bit behind my back which is how I have always done it.

When I originally wrote to Jack I told him that I carry my case on my right. he responded that he only makes the case one way with the case to be carried on the left (so you could shake somoene's hand with your right). I kept looking at photos and I realized that when I said carry I was talking about with the shoulder strap. JJ was talking about carrying the case by the handle like a briefcase on the left. Hope this is not confusing you.

I did buy the pad. I did not get the bottom protection band. the extra pocket is worth it if you are going to carry a jump butt and want a 16' pocket.
