Got my new Diamond today from the factory.

League cut will have the deepest shelf because of the wider opening. Makes it easier to get the ball into the opening, but sometimes doesn't drop as easy. i think the shelf diff is pretty small though.
At Magoo's they have league-cut D'mond bb's and those pockets are huge. I don't care how deep/shallow the shelf is if you can't make balls on one you suck. They're a tad tougher than a Valley but not by much.

Unless i was told a lie they don't use different slates for the various pocket size offerings. Only difference is how the cushions are cut/faced. I just msg'd them to double check this.
:sigh:

This is what I get for trying to be a jackhole outside of NPR.

i never read every post in any thread so i have no clue just where this one went off the tracks. there's so much idiotic shit spewed on here its hard to separate pure bs from anything resembling sane thought.
Yeah, this one started on the spur and never hit the trunk.

But thanks for the skinny on the slates.

How does pocket size affect shelf depth? If so is there a tool that a “good” table mechanic could rent, not like he’ll need it often, to take a little off the slate to reduce the depth without affecting anything else, or am I just totally clueless?

This has come up before and i'm pretty sure they don't use diff. slate for diff. pocket sizes. I don't think what jimmyco posted is correct so i msg'd D'mond to be sure. I'll post their reply.
By “look up” I meant jimmyco’s post, and this entire thread, went over your (and others) head!
All in good fun, happy new year.

true or not on this one.

but it shows how gullible pool players are and that is exactly why gambling with them is a gold mine.
