I'm sitting in seat #36 of the Q-Master section which I think is being renamed to the Dishaw section (it's my usual seat).

Did you guys get your tickets yet?

I tried shortly after 6pm, as scheduled, and it was not working.
I called and was told it was not ready yet and it would be working later in the evening.
When I got home from playing in my pool league I tired again.
Although I could see that others had purchased their tickets, I was unable to get it to work.
After making my selections, and inputting credit information, I clicked to go to the verification step and it always showed my shopping cart as empty.
Bottom line is, I wasted a lot of my time and I got very frustrated.

I will try later today and, if necessary, I will be calling again.

I'm not a happy camper.

Frustrated ain't the word. This is the 3rd year that the tickets were sold online and the 3rd year they completley F&%#+D it all up. If I wasn't such a U.S. Open (FAGGOT) I would just tell them to shove it.... but I'm still a U.S. Open Faggot so I'll see you all there.

Same thing happened to me too, Rich. I picked 36, but my cart was empty. Then I picked 35 thinking that maybe it'll refresh my cart and show 2 seats chosen but it only showed 35 which I was able to place my purchase on. After the purchase was entered successfully, I went to my account and lo and behold, seat 36 (my original selection) was the one purchased.

Grrrrrrrr! :( After all the fun I had at last year's Open, I knew it was going to be tough missing it this year - I didn't think it would be this tough! And the tickets have only just gone on sale!

Mind you, I do have this year's World Championships of Magic in Stockholm, Sweden, so I can't have everything - although I wish I could! ;)

See you all in 2007!

Finally, earlier today, after going around and around in circles, I finally secured our normal seats. The system is really not working correctly and I think a lot of people will get frustrated trying to use it. Although there were problems last year, it worked much better than it is this year.

hey how important is it to get tickets ahead of time and get seats? I figured youd just get a ticket then you show up and its like festival seating or something? From these posts im starting to figure out thats not the case. Where is a good place to sit? Ive never been to the open but thought about going this year. If i wait until im sure can i just get tickets at the door, or the last minute? Will i be sitting somewhere in the back where i cant see if i do? Whats the 411?

Early in the week and during day sessions, it's not a problem finding a good seat. The weekend? Good luck....

Well, I gotta be honest with you, Scotty. I always purchase that seat that I did for the whole week (I'm there from beginning to end). As long as you're a VIP holder, you can sit wherever you want because there are so many matches going on, just that you have to get up should you be sitting in someone else's seat. When the weekend comes and that's when things start to get down to the nitty gritty, people start to sit in their seats.

So, I would say that even though that's my seat that I purchased, I only sit there when there's a match that I'm interested in seeing playing on the TV table and obviously for the quarter, semi, and finals. I do like to know that my seat is secured.

You won't have a problem for general admission. General admission does tighten up on the wkend and I suggest you get there before play begins (usually 11am) so that you can find a seat without bothering too many players or spectators.

The seats everyone else is talking about are the VIP seats at the tv table. Those you would definitely want to buy early.
