It was hilarious.
I called Grady to find out if anyone still used the ping pong table that I saw against a wall at the last tournament that I played in.
He tells me that my kids could use it for free if I was using a table and we bought a few dinks and snacks, couldn`t be more reasonable.
I gave my children some background info regarding Grady`s "legend" status and they were very excited about meeting him as they all love to shoot pool.
When we got there he welcomed them, shook hands with each one and had very fun and playful comments and had them laughing immediately.
After getting the table set up I went back up to get something to drink when Grady wants to know who`s the best player among them and then announces his intentions to challenge,"be there in a minute"
I go back and commence stirring things up with my 14 yr old. Grady comes back and after a brief warm up session, its on!
Grady, maybe even without realizing it, starts commentating on the the match, I laughed till I had tears.
FINAL SCORE 21-18 TO MR MATHEWS
