a friend of my daughters came up from Columbia this weekend and we were talkin about different rooms, and he said he heard Gradys was up for sale ? say it aint so Grady! I still have not had a chance to get by there to meet you yet.

It would be a shame, but it wouldn't suprise me. Grady has done all you can do, he has a great building and great tables. But it's tough out there.
 
i spoke to Grady today and he didnt mention it, but we didnt talk about it either. Its tough out there, real tough. I hope it all works out for him and Randi.
 
Just about every room I've ever been in was for sale for the right price. Doesn't mean it will be sold any time soon, though. The place I used to play at in NY was for sale from the time I started going in there until it was actually sold, about 15 or 16 years later.
I heard the local place was for sale two years ago and it hasn't been sold yet and I seriously doubt it will be.
 
I live about 15 min from there and would just like to say that I really hope that the poolroom makes it. It's is a great place to play and Columbia definately has the players to support it. I know it has been rough for them so far as they have not had a lot of things go their way. With local laws and codes and all that. They also have had a hard time finding reliable people there too. Of course the economy and gas prices havent helped anything there either. Though I will say that the last few times I was in there things have been looking up. There are more and more people there at night it seems and I think if they can just get through March or so I think they'll be fine.

I wish Grady and his family all the luck in the world(despite our differences in the past) I truly believe in what Grady is doing there and I think he is supplying a great product.

Please please show your support and come to Grady's any chance you get. He is having some big tournaments that I think you all might enjoy. The next one is one-pocket in early December and I'm sure there will be a good turnout of pros there. If I heard right Accu-stats is going to be there too!!!

Just another situation where you can't believe everything you hear. Somebody probably heard we had a table for sale....or a cue for sale, or whatever, and ran with it.

Thank goodness! I live in Charleston and Grady's room is the closest room with descent tables I know of. I wish Grady the best with his business and I hope his room does well. I hope to play in his next tournament.
