Great Customer Service from Schmelke

I just wanted to post a review on Schmelke customer service. I bought a BR04 Goncalo Alves last December and the butt developed a bow to it. I sent the cue back, and they replaced it no questions asked (except to call and confirm the specs). I paid to ship it back to them and was supposed to pay for return shipping, but it showed up on Friday from UPS. The new cue they built for me is pristine. Anyway, just my two cents for anyone who may shopping around.

Agreed, they're really pretty good over there when it comes to customer service. I ordered a cue a couple of months ago, I forget the number, but it's a really nice piece of Bacote. I wanted a break cue, didn't want to pay a lot, didn't want a phenolic tip, and it seemed like it would do the job. They configured it with their stiffest joint, gave it a good break taper, and put on a hard Arden leather tip. It's well made, looks great, feels good with a little bit of forward balance, and it breaks a ton. I think it is a big improvement over the JJ J/B I was using. Good consistency of hit and I can control the cue ball much better. Very pleased with it.

I also ordered a 30 dollar floor cue rack from them and it's absolutely nothing other than a POS to be honest. I know you get what you pay for, but c'mon-the thing wobbles as one leg is shorter than the others, one legs screw is broken so if you pick the thing up it falls apart, and the holes where you drop the cue into place, the insides needed to be sanded down, and a lot.

Anyway, they'd probably replace it as they seemed like good people over there, but I'll let it go. Maybe I'll use it for firewood. But the important thing was they got the cue right. Very well done for the money.

Shmelke is a great place to deal with, good people. The cue rack wasn't made by them. They are just retailers for that kind of thing, and likely didn't know of any issues as they wouldn't have ever opened the box. But for good cues for cheap, they are the place.
