If NH ever goes smoke-free, I might take advantage of this in the meantime I guess it's Tyngsboro or Chelmsford MA and a higher rate and drive.

The Boston Billiard Clubs are definitely a great place to go... They are an UPSCALED upscale Billiard Club... they would make living in Boston worth while...

Even if NH does go smoke-free, it will not effect all the private clubs in Manchester, where most of the better players get down. At least ten clubs that have two 9' Pool tables, most with Simonis cloth that is replaced every year, no charge for table time whatsoever, only about $25 a year to join :)

How can any poolroom compete with that??

I agree with you fully. I am in the MA area, but most of my pool playing is played on a free GCV at a local club. I don't get to play too much 1 hole down these ways though. If your ever up for a game let me know.

Personally I'll pay hourly without hesitation to be out of the smokey atmospheres. Now that I've had the luxury of playing in a smoke free environment, I'm not sure I would return to a smokey environment if the law were removed and might even give up pool outside my house if it were.
Private clubs are generally worse than the pool rooms were before MA went non-smoking. Which is really too bad because otherwise they are a good deal.

Since I was referring to Boston Billiards in Nashua which isn't a private club I guess that is a moot point.
