Great White.... Free Drawing.....

Yes it's that time again.... Will send out a dozen pieces based on a random drawing.....

When we first released the Great White we had a few issues with the chalk being messy... Part of it was because of rebuilt Hobart that was running faster than the control settings and pulling air into the mix... Air is great for cakes not for chalk...

I had also designed the great white to transfer to the tip with almot zero effort or force which made it very very easy to cake the chalk on the tip which made the chalk messier than it should have been...

We fixed the air problem in February.

We firmed up the formula after Expo this year and since then the reviews have been consistently great...

Kamui Grade and American Made! for a fraction of the price...

If you want to give the Great White a test run and provide feedback post here on the thread... I do not want to firm the chalk up any further but I will if feedback dictates it...

Chris

I would love to try it out!!

Oops. I guess I am a little late on this one.

Anyone received anything yet?!

Guess it is time that I remedy this.. We have new software up and running now so it's no longer a manual process so my excuse of being too busy went away last week.. Will get the addresses from my PM box and copy and paste them in tonight....

Thanks for the reply!

Looks like some good products for the industry coming from this company, excited to try them all out!

Sorry I took forever but....

Chalk shipped today... In BLUE!! That's what I need the most feedback on as the white has been rolling right along........

I just received mine yesterday. I will post a review once I get the chance to play with it. I will say I love the plastic case it came in! :)

THANKS!

Ok, I had a chance to use the Great White chalk that Chris so generously provided, and here is my quick, non-technical review (and w/o knowing the price point):

Throw away your Kamui! The Great White 'blue' sample that was sent was everything I remembered about the Kamui chalk, but without the mess on the table as you play, which was a pleasant surprise. I would think that the simple fact of way less mess w/similar performance would be enough to make the change from Kamui...and I'm guessing it's less money.

It did not seem to transfer near as much chalk to the cueball as Kamui and stayed on my tip while spinning the ball a lot for at least 12-15 shots w/o having to rechalk. I don't recommend not chalking for this long in a game, but that seems to be what all are measuring against.

It also was very smooth when being applied to the tip and had excellent coverage (similar to the Kamui feel when applied). The blue is more like a powder blue (more white then blue), but worked. Again, I love the plastic case that Great White was shipped in.

I then compared it to Magic Chalk since I already did my own comparison and found that chalk to be the best of the bunch, especially for the price point. The Great White made a little more mess while applying to the tip, but after that they seemed similar in performance. The Magic Chalk had that more familiar sound and feel during application as you would feel using traditional chalk, while Great White was smoother (more similar to Kamui). Great White is a round cube where Magic Chalk is the traditional square cube.

I would not hesitate to use either of these chalks in an important match as both performed really well. I guess it would depend on the price point and how convenient they are to purchase. However, if you chalk after every shot, it has been said that chalk really doesn't matter as much, but if I had to spin the bejeezus out of the cueball at an important juncture of a match, I would prefer to have one of these two on my tip.

Chris, thanks for allowing me to try this out, as mentioned, I was pleasantly surprised how clean it played. I wish you luck with this and all of your products.

Thanks Dave... I appreciate you taking time to post this.. One of the main reasons we stopped doing the drawings and I lost focus on them was because I would send out 10-20 of something and there would be PMs and emails but noone really took the time to review... Maybe that was just bad luck on the ones we did before..

The light blue was a decision we made because of the bleed factor.. Going darker the blue content would transfer on to other materials further and cause some staining and I couldn't stand it...

The white is and will be my favorite because it doesn't stain ANYTHING...

So if we were going blue it needed to be blue enough to satisfy room owners but I wanted it light enough so that it still was a cleaner product so you and your cue could appreciate it....

Have a few 2nds building up that I will be giving away at the Open if anyone is going.... If I come home with any we will likely do another give away....

Thanks, Chris. My pleasure - you have a winning product hear as far as I'm concerned. I understand the bleed or stain factor on the balls, but what impressed me was there did not seem to be much if any chalk that I could see on the clothe. This was a real issue w/Kamui and some others I tried.

Continued success.

Got mine earlier this week, haven't gotten the chance to play much with it, but I will work it out and report back.. I'll try and get some buddies to try it as well.

Thanks for the opportunity

I received my blue "cube" in the mail earlier this week. I've had a chance to play with it a bit, and I have to say upon first impression, I really like it. It's a lot firmer than the white was. It doesn't disintegrate upon application, or make a mess all over the table. It doesn't stick to the cue ball as much as the white did for me. It stays on the tip well, and I feel it performs better than Masters or Blue Diamond. I haven't tried Kamui or Magic chalk, so I can't speak to that. It is a lighter shade of blue than you might be used to, but that's just fine. It doesn't show up all over the table like the white does. I'm still not sure how I feel about the cylindrical shape, feels a little bit awkward in your hand after being so used to holding a cube. That's a little distracting. But overall, excellent product. Thanks Chris!
