GREENVILLE, NC - anyone knows anything about it?

Hi Everyone!

In the research for my new home back east I've been through several states and I have to tell you that its extremely difficult to find a apartment for a 9' table. In big cities they are small and expensive. So whether I like it or not I have to choose something small. And Greenville, NC is what I found as a perfect match. It is a 2 bedroom apt with a living room that perfectly fits 9' table and total of 945sf for only $400!! Here is what I found out so far about this place:
population - 64.000
race - white 60%, black - 40%
gender - male 43%, female 57% :D
weather - 4 seasons
I was wondering if there is someone who lives around this area or maybe knows a little bit more about it.

Hey BAZARUS,

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that is the area where Earl Strickland is from. If that's the case I would guess there are some really good players in the area.

Dave

I'm from Alabama, so I'm partial to anywhere down South......North Carolina is beautiful country, especially this time of year, and is well situated to going either north or south for tournaments. (Earl lives in Greensboro, once expected to be the "next Atlanta," but I'm not sure how far that is from Greenville.) And there definitely are many other good players in the area!! :)

Greenville is the quintessential college town. I live in Raleigh, but my brother went to ECU, which is in Greenville, and my father still lives in Greenville. There's plenty to do while school is in session, but it becomes a relative ghost town in the summer. There are a couple of decent rooms in Greenville, and the action seems to be ok. I think the best thing about Greenville is that it's about the same distance to Raleigh and Wilmington, which is where most of the bigger tournaments are held. In addition, those are also the places where the bigger action is.

Greenville is pretty close to the beach (within an hour), so I hope you like the ocean.

As far as good players, Earl is in Greensboro, which is about 2.5 to 3 hours west of Greenville, Tony Watson is (usually) in Wilmington, along with Bruce Bullard and David Tickle; Raleigh has guys like Robert Ray, Johnny Griffin, Michael Coltrain, Sam Monday, Sparky Ferrule, etc.; and there's a fine player who goes by the name of Pokey in Greenville. There are some good senior players in NC, too, like Jack Stenner, Frank Tullos, Jimmy Faircloth, and Leroy Bryant.

Yes, its a good thing, that is consider a students city. Cause of that lots of things are happenning and prizes are lower. I see you have mentioned several great players out here,,,BTW Robert Ray knock me out of this years Open

Maybe you better check with the resident manager to see if the floors are bolstered strong enough to support the weight, unless you're on the bottom level on concrete slab. Otherwise, you might be shooting pool unexpectedly with your neighbor.

Yeah, Robert's good for that.... I hope you got a chance to talk to him a little, he's a really nice guy. He didn't do all that well at this year's Open, but he's placed in the top 32 in the past. Either two or three years ago he knocked out Nick Varner, so he can hit 'em a little.

A Polack, whitewashing the inner walls of a country outhouse, had the misfortune to fall through the opening and land in the muck at the bottom. He shouted, "Fire! Fire! Fire! at the top of his lungs. The local F.D. responded immediately sirens roaring as they approached the privy. "Where's the fire? called the chief. "No fire", replied the pollack as they pulled him out of the hole. "But if I had yelled, "Shit! Shit! Shit!" who would have rescued me?"

The nurse walked into the emergency room, where the Polack was stretched out. She saw his horribly swollen, bright red genitals and asked, "What in the hell happened to him?" Another nurse explained, "He got the directions of his doctor all wrong. The doctor told him to 'prick' his 'boil'.

Where can you buy panties made out of fertilizer bags and bras made out of beer cans?.........Fredericks of Poland

What does the sign above the urinal in a Polish men's room say? Please don't eat the big white mints.

What happened to the Polish terrorist who tried to blow up a bus? He burnt his lips on the exhaust pipe.

What's the difference between a rich Polack and a poor Polack? Whitewalls on their wheelbarrows.

Why don't Polish workers get lunch breaks? Because they'd have to retrain afterwards.

A Polack who'd recently come to the United States walked into a bar one day carrying a pistol, a bag of shit, and a dead cat. He asked the bartender for a shot of rye. He downed the whiskey, picked up the pistol, and fired 3 shots into the bag of shit. Then he picked up the dead cat and started gnawing. The bartender asked the Polack what in the hell he thought he was doing. "I want to be like an American man," the Polack said. "Drink whiskey, shoot the shit, and eat pussy."

Hey Baz... most guys here usually take those 1,300 lb. tables apart and and carry them up in much lighter pieces and put them together. Geez....gotta tell them everything. (For anybody incensed at this, Baz and I are both of Russian derivation and grew up eating perogi's) :D

If your post was personally for Baz, I suggest you PM him next time. You may be Russian, but those damn sure looked like polack jokes to me. Since you're Russian, I guess that's ok. I guess it's ok for you to make make derogatory comments of Jews, blacks, Asians, etc., too. Shut up.

Yeah, I've notice Drivemakers "RACISTS POSTS" before. I wonder if he even knows where and why "polish jokes" are so popular?

DoomCue,

Actually it is ok for anybody to make any kind of statement about anybody. It's called free speech. But before i get jumped on for saying that, let me say this: You have the right to say whatever the hell you want to say, but the constitution doesn't say that PEOPLE HAVE TO LIKE IT. Sure i can type up some Jew jokes, black jokes whatever, and i have a right to do it, but you have the right to not like what i could post. It's simple. And i believe that Drivermaker didn't mean any harm by that post.

I don't even know why i'm posting this... i just know what is gonna happen... and when it does, i'll just ignore it. So if anybody has anything to say about this post, make sure you read (and re-read) and understand what has been said by me, before you get the torches and pitchforks.

Thanks,

Jon

P.S. Driver, those were pretty funny :-D .

Yes, Thank you. It's been done. It was fun, and i'm up for it again.

It just goes to show that reading comprehension is somehow underrated in today’s society.

Thanks,

Jon

Baz,

I've never been to Greenville NC (but i have been to Greenville SC, don't know if it is the same place or not...) but i live in Northwestern NC, and been through the mountains, plains and it's all great. I think you would like NC no matter where you go...

Thanks,

Jon

You're right, everyone has the right to be an idiot, that's individual freedom of choice. You're right I don't have to like it and I can also post that I don't like it. But I tell you what, why don't you call a black man a nigger and see what happens. Call me a polack or a chink to my face and see what happens. If you think the Constitution was written to allow anyone to say whatever he wants with no repercussions, think again.

So if someone voices their opinion, and you don't like it, that makes them an idiot? Interesting...
No repercussions? I didn't say that, did i? Let me look... ummmm NO, i didn't say that. All i said is that driver can say whatever the hell he wants to say. It's his right. And you don't have to like it. I didn't say he has a right to say something without repercussions. You brought that up.

Oh, and somebody i know called a black man "nigger" to his face. The black man's reply? "Only a nigger would be offended by that remark." That is a direct quote, and not my words. Just to be clear on that. I have no problems with anybody of any race, creed, religion or sex, just to make that clear for future reference.

Thanks,

Jon
