Snooker

I watched a video from an snooker instructor who said you don't want a gap, because the cue can move around. I was taught you wanted to have a gap to prevent from over-gripping the cue.

I saw that video too, tried it, and I found to shoot more consistently when I started using that grip. Try it yourself and find out.

No gap in my grip seems to give me a more consistent stroke due to less hand and wrist movement.

When I need a big powerful draw shot, a small gap lets me use more wrist. I have more difficulty doing a power draw with no gap in my grip.

I have not been playing long. Not sure if my experiences are unique or valuable.

No space saith "The Miz"

Steve Mizerack, in his book on advanced techniques said that there should be no space between the cue and the web of the hand.

However, in youtube videos Mosconi appears to have a space, between hand and cue.
