I need help with my grip it just doesnt fell right and i cant find one i like does anyone have good pictures or video to help me with this.

I know exactly what you are going thru and how you feel. I am 99% sure that your problem is your stroke and not your grip. A crooked stroke causes the grip hand to feel like it is causing the problem. Just remember this, keep the same grip pressure throughout the entire stroke. When you get a straight stroke you will naturally find a comfortable grip and it will stay that way.

I am not completley sold on your statment...I think a proper grip is a key element of a straight stroke.

If your grip (and set up) is crooked so will your stroke probably be.

I also agree stroke and stance are both key elements.

I don't think the grip or stroke have to be a certain way for everyone though. As evidence of all the top pros with different grips and strokes. You just got to find out what combo works best for you and try different stances and strokes and grips.

Right now for me, letting the cue rest in the fingers of my hand with very little thumb pressure and letting the cue slip a little in my grip on contact with the cue ball is working very good for me. But I don't force the slip. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. This helps me keep very light controlled pressure on the grip. Its amazing how much more easily I can draw or follow with this grip than a more snug or tight grip.
Theres tons of ways to hold a cue as evidence by the people like Mike Davis, santos sambajon, Reyes, Bustamante, Neils fejin and many more.

I also tend to face the shot more. Not to the extreme like for example: allison fisher, but I just kind of step into the shot with my left foot and get down and shoot.

Well, you asked for pictures, so here you go. Sorry about the quality and angle, but I'm the only one at the house right now and had to take these by myself. No, my wrist isn't angled like that, but ignore the wrist and that's my grip/hand position on the cue. With my grip, the cue actually slides in my hand when the tip contact the CB and it slides forward in my hand when I finish my stroke.

BTW, there is no "right" way to grip, although, I feel like there are a lot of WRONG ways to grip. Just relaxed, don't choke the cue til the butt is blue.

Later,
Bob
