What do you think? An axe or a milling machine? Possibly a beaver? What ever it is, it had large teeth.

Stir the Pot, see what comes up?

Wait a sec, that looks like a rail you installed? Why did you install it once you saw I butchered the subrail with my sander? It was my fault that I did not catch it, but I did give you the option. As I recall, I pestered you about it once I saw it to not install. Give me the number, I will call the guy right now?! I even have the $100 off to soften the error listed in our job sheet. Did you ever give me his number? Nope. Do you think that doesn't count? That still goes, give me his number and I will take care of it.

Or were you thinking I would not own up?

I don't get busted by not getting a day's work done, so why again did you install it?

It is amazing how quick you stabbed me in the back, I ended out business relationship all of 2 hours ago? Good luck with the business. I make mistakes, and I own up to them. Go ahead and stir the pot. Very professional. Also, I love the website.

You have 3 other jobs that you can bring up where I was "less" than spectacular, go ahead, I have nothing to hide. If I am such a poor mechanic, why have I been doing your rail work for you anyway? And who has been the first person there when your house floods, or your truck's rear blows? You forget these things Bob, that is why I can't do business with you anymore. No professionalism at all. If it weren't for Pat helping you get in with Chinese table installs you would probably be doing landscaping or concrete again. No bullshit, what have I said that is not spot on accurate? Nothing.

Rob

If you want to stir the pot, shall we discuss your pool hall days or your medication? You know what I am talking about, I have a keen memory. Lets just end this and move on, I don't want it to drag out like it did with your last business associate. Cut the cord.

What a terrific idea! Actually it was fromthe backend of a Makita
Sander. Doesn't take much, looks way worse covered. If I had the end customers number it would have been fixed. Find me someone who doesn't make mistakes, I have never met one...
Rob

I didn't read the whole thread. I was just making a joke! I had no idea you did that. I am not a table mechanic, I just like learning and reading this forum!

Well we now know the tool that did the job! :rotflmao1:Oh and he used a milling machine.
Yes, Rob you tried to make good on it, however my customer waited for the rails and was unwilling to go without his table any longer. To answer your question, I installed to make the customer happy.
Further more you are doing my rail work because of the group approach we were taking to local poolhall work. I will gladly take on any challenge you are throwing down. That includes railwork, rail extensions and certainly any and all other phases of table work. I have repeatedly produced some of the finest action tables in poolrooms surrounding Philly. Would you like to challenge that on an open forum. My tables are up and playing while you are sitting in the blocks wondering if the gun went off or you just false started.Lets do it. Let's have a challenge
A picture is worth a thousand words. I have never produced a job like pictured above. Not Ever, not if I used a pocket knife. I have been in business 10 years and re-clothed 13 poolrooms in your back yard. I hope you didn't pay a lot for the web page.
I work to improve every day I work. My Friendships with other mechanics have improved my abilities and I hope I return their efforts. It is my hope to become a caliber mechanic like Jay or RKC. My web page sucks and yours is awesome and it just goes to show you cant judge a book by it's cover.

Oh and you are correct again, I would be laying concrete if it weren't for the fact that I am a quality mechanic, with repeat business and friend like Pat who keeps their word and helped me grow in this business.

Oh and as for my poolhall days. Were you referring to the fact that I am a top player? Or was it my years of drug use? That's right folks I AM 10 YEARS CLEAN!!!! And proud of it. It takes guts, God and some really big @#$$ to bounce back from substance abuse. We all fall not all of us get up!

By the way the knife in your back belongs to you, I was only returning it.

Rob your memory is keen and I understand the threat you have made. I would edit your thoughts carefully as you reply to this. I am a Marine I don't have to make threats. You know me very well, you know the drive I possess, spilling my personal life on this forum is not healthy conversation
Oh and for the record you arrived at my home almost 5 weeks after it flooded. First person? Spot on? Really? I met Pat 2 years ago, where were you the 8 years prior. I was working in almost every poolroom around Philly and Allentown. Did you say Spot on? I lack professionalism? Did I mention you or your business in my original post? Other mechanics on this forum have worked with you and are well aware of Your so called professionalism. I admit that the content of this reply lacks my better Angels, this forum does not deserve our dirty laundry. But really Rob, I happen to know that other mechanic here share my thoughts on the way you act. Did you say spot on?

Some of us strive to get better, no matter the method the madness or the tooling and some of us like yourself bring everyone around them down. I guess it lowers the bar. Hey it works for the military. Its called gender norming.

Say what you want Bob, you do have that right. I have been on the verge of ending our business arrangement for months, this just was the topping on the cake. Yes, you are a terrific mechanic. And for the record, Yes, I did learn quite a bit from you. Yes, you do work in pool rooms in my backyard however it is uncontested since I don't have much interest in them. Not marketing for it, but that might just change. You are definitely a serious threat physically, large and in charge. I do know you, and what you are capable of. When I heard you were on the way down to my shop tonight I did take it serious enough to have someone else there and police on speed-dial. I know enough about the law to know the boundary to stay clear of. Everything I do is documented clearly, you know me as well. I would say the best bet is that we just go our separate way. Another thing to mention is that everything in these posts show up in Google and the other search engines for years to come. I am not proud of my mistakes and misjudgments, but they are to be learned from so they don't happen again. No one is harder on me than myself, so the benefit for continuing this is not there. As far as I am concerned, I never met you but I hear you do good work.

I don't know either one of you guy's, and I truly don't want to keep things going between the both of you.
I just can't stop wondering...how in the world could this mistake of sanding the bottom of the rail happen?

What's the reason for a sander in that area of the rail doing in the first place?
I don't want to sound like a jerk.....I just need to know how that happen.

Hope things get better for both of you.

Maybe someone will correct me....but my thoughts are that the milling head...in its traveling along the face of the sub-rail...snagged some of the wood end grain at the bottom of the rail...and splintered it off...removing a large chunk of wood....then, it was belt-sanded/molded to the best it could be and left at that....because it was on the bottom of the rail....and no one would see it anyway......is that how it happened ROB?

First of all, I want you to listen to what I have to say Rob, no need to comment back either.

Facts:

(1) YOU claim to be a professional pool table mechanic, who prides himself on being able to rebuild rails, and correct bevels in the sub-rails to play better.

(2) YOU have promoted yourself and your services to various parties/groups and fellow mechanics as a source of getting certain work done for them, such as rebuilding sub-rails...and at a professional fee no less, so it's not a service you offer for free.

(3) YOU have been told by some of your peers that your system of doing this kind of work has it's flaws, and is not the correct tooling used for this kind of work.

(4) YOU accepted a job from Bob De Turk to rebuild a set of rails from a home table....for a fee!

(5) YOU were given the rails to do the job.

(6) YOU had the rails in your possession for longer than it took to do the job, and only under direct pressure from Bob did you give the rails back to him.....as a job completed, because at the time of delivery...YOU did not mention that the rails were NOT finished.

(7) YOU DAMAGED the rails, and FAILED to for-warn Bob of the damage to the sub-rails, leaving him to face the customer with the same surprise upon discovering the damage rail.

(8) YOU, only AFTER confrontation with Bob offered to knock off $100 of the job YOU were contracted to do.

(9) YOU then, after pictures of this work was posted here on AZ went on to further attack Bob with PERSONAL knowledge of his said past...which has NOTHING....and I'm going to say that again....NOTHING to do with the total lack of professionalizum....of the damage done to these rails....as a way of DEFENDING your actions...because you felt betrayed, because Bob posted pictures of your work!

(10) YOU, after the fact...offer to fix the rail, when IN FACT...that is something that should have been done BEFORE the rails were turned over as completed!

I will NOT SUPPORT this kind of "Professionalism" on my forum in which I have spent the last 3 1/2 years building. I will NOT SUPPORT a forum that will support someone that is clearly deceiving those who would send rails to you to rebuild, only to receive such "HACK" work in return...and be expected to PAY for it!

IF I were this customer, I'd file a lawsuit against you for the damages to my table, have someone else that KNOWS what they're doing fix YOUR screw up...and BILL YOU FOR THE REPAIRS!

Glen, the "Realkingcobra"

Mr. Willson, would you please contact me, as I need to speak with you about this situation, it is very important, thank you.

Oh I see where this is going, no worries Glen. Do as you wish. I don't even know if that is the customer's name. Not to drag this out any more, you can pursue any avenue you need. I could tell you much to your dismay about those you think are in awe of you. As soon as you stop being useful to those parties, you will remembering everything I said. I do respect your work greatly. I truly hope this customer will let me fix the rail I damaged, he can contact me so I can finally get this done for him. After months of pursuing Bob to get in there and fix it, nothing. Glen, did you know of the full situation regarding the previous partner of this person. It is foolhardy to make assumptions without checking the backstory. There is nothing to be gained here, I have said my piece and will not be posting more on the topic.
