Are there any AZers who are going to attend the one pocket tournament other than JoeyA, Gulfport Doc and John Henderson?

Thanks,
JoeyA

I will be there. I'm going to try to get there late Thurs or early Friday to hit 'em around. I'd like to meet any az members who may be there and may be enticed into some cheap practice action:smile: . Sounds like it will be a fantastic event.

1p tourney

I'll be there and I belive C. Raulston is comming with me would love to meet all the AZers there.

It would be great to meet any of you AZBers.

Are both of you already paid and signed up as well as C Raulston?

There are only six spots left so it is going to fill up shortly.

I may come over on the 7th of November to hit some balls.

Looking forward to meeting both of you. Please introduce yourselves and let me know your screen names.

Construction costs are down (since I am providing some of the labor) and I am on my son's house and can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Tell Shortman, to loosen up those purse strings and bring you on down. I expect we will all have a good time. I've nudged IBA to come visit that weekend. There will probably be some other sweaters there and we welcome you all but please bring cash.

BTW, I haven't heard any complaints about Skeeter's food either. The casinos will drain you like Rotor Rooter.

Mississippi Gulf Coast One-Pocket Shoot Out

There are 26 paid and signed up out of a field limited to 32 players. That means there are ONLY 6 SPOTS LEFT! I've heard rumors of several players who want to play, including Eddie Brown, Chuck Raulston, "Hollywood" Glenn Robin, etc., but so far there has been no payment or contact fron them. This tournament will fill.

The flyer is in the Tournament Announcement section. The last update was yesterday (October 9th).

I AM Breathing, Aren't I ?

Well, the last time that I went to Gulfport, MS to play in a one-pocket tournament, was Grady's pool tournament and poker tournament. I went out in 11th place in the poker tournament and the remaining 10 players immediately chopped the prize pool $1,000 each.

In Grady's one socket event, I barely squeaked past 'bye' in the first round and then was knocked to the left side of the board by GULFPORT DOC and quickly illuminated by Larry Charbonnet.

I see that Doc and Larry are both in this tournament also and so are a dozen more that have always beat me. I did manage to pickup a few hundred from the rail at Grady's and if I find someone to ride with, I may make an appearance in November.

Don't Get Around Much Anymore...

I don't go anywhere, but I was considering going to this one just for the chance to meet Joey and Doc and hear some Zappa road stories.

Unfortunately, something came up. Hope you guys have fun...

Well, we'd love to have had you, Patrick. I've enjoyed your posts over the years, and OPG tells me you're a right guy. Hopefully I'll get to meet you at the DCC.

Tubster, I can't believe you'd even consider passing up the second opportunity in three months to needle and harrass JoeyA!!! In fact, I bet Joey hasn't been under the Smorg lamp for several years.

Tell you what. If you make it up here for the tournament, you've got a big steak dinner coming from me at Skeeter's. You may even have two beverages of your choice! Now, what do you say to that???

The Gulf Coast is back and to spread the word they want you to know you can now buy a scooby dog for only 500 each.

Thanks,
JoeyA

Grady's tournament was in the big building right outside of the Grand Casino in Gulfport,MS.
They had one-pocket, 9 Ball and Banks.
Randi (Grady's wife) worked the desk/table just inside the front door. Buddy Hall was zooming around in one of those scooters for old people that can't walk. (He could get from the tournament area to the upper floor of the Grand Casino and the All-U-Can-Eat Buffet in under 2 minutes and was cutoff from the crab legs section after the second day)....

Doug
(I avoided being cutoff from the Buffet by putting all my steak, rib & chicken bones on JoeyA.'s plate when he wasn't looking) :)

*Grady was also at the Seniors Tournament (as was I) at Casino Magic in Biloxi, MS. I was also at the Senior's Tournaments in Tampa at Seminole Hardrock and in Naples, FL.
JoeyA. was at most of those too and always has a respectable showing (buy him in the calcutta and bid HIGH) :)

It was the triple tourney we were at, yes Buddy was in the scooter from
hell. I think I clocked him at 100 as he wizzed by me. It was a nice tourney. LOL, there was some drama, but it was all good. Now I have to
go through my pictures.
