GW cue question

Hi,
I'm new to the group. I used to play a lot from the late 50's to early 70's. I learned from my uncle, Al Gilbeau, whom I believe was New England champ for some years. Wille M used to tour then and, for a few years, he would come to Hartford Ct and do an exhibition and then play 14.1 against Al as part of the show.

I had played a few tournaments in Htfd and did OK. Al sat in the gallery at one of them and thought I could help get his son Ray interested in the game. Ray and I played a lot and, after about 6 months, Ray was spotting me 10 in a 14.1 game of 50 and usually won. Most of you probably know that Ray became a well-known player. Also, I once played 9 ball with Larry Liscotti at a Manchester Ct Billiards room. I won't go into the results but it was fun.

I was thinking about playing again and thought I would replace my old cue.
I found a GW108 cue and would like some info about them. When were they made, were they considered poor, okay or good and what are they worth? This one is almost mint with only slight embedded chalk residue on the shaft and ferrule. It's straight as an arrow, has a very solid hit, and feels good. I would appreciate any info.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply.
I found that site a while back and saw the $200. However, worthpoint won't tell you what it sold for unless you give them a lot of info including all your credit card info, and, even though it was sold on ebay, the selling price is hidden. I decided I didn't feel safe giving them the info. But, more importantly, I was hoping to get some responses as to the quality or lack there of, and how old it might be. After searching the web it seems GW has gone out of business. I could not find any usefull info.
Thanks,
Henry Rancourt

I used to shoot with a GW series cue. Wrapless, uniloc pin, model WRE85.

Hit pretty good, similar to a Lucasi.

Hope this helps.
