His methods for cue protection was excellent.

Glad I got a couple of his cases when I could.
 
This is bad news. I think his cases were highly original and extremely protective. If you look at the "Business Plan" section on the web site, it looks like John Hager had pretty grand plans originally (in addition to cases, extenders, bridges):

Perhaps we'll see John in some other incarnation?
 
i was planning on ordering a Hager case this week i hope i can still do so>>>hopefully there are still some in scock...
 
I have one of his older style cases. It is the only case that I have that attracts interest. One of the attractions is the laces. It seems as if no one likes the newer style.

Love my case. Sad to hear the bad news.
 
Wow. It seems like his cue extensions are very popular. Lately it seems as if every third or fourth customer of mine wants me to build a case that can accomodate a Hager extension.

I have a Hager case and it is quite innovative. I personally am not on board with the idea that it's the most protective but it's definitely protective.

I think that the weight is a factor. My 1x2 Hager weighs as much as our 2x4 and that can be a turn off.

The way he used the bunjee cord to make the straps and bind the cases is very creative.

On a side note I wonder how many people over the years have based their business plan on the SGMA marketing report that states that 30 million people play pool???

I say this because there is a copy of the 2009 report on the Hager website.
