Hal Houle's 2 angle method?

I read on the other forum that Hal uses a 2 angle method to aim every shot. How does this work. I hope it does not relate to fraction aiming because I don't feel comfortable with that. I am proficient at ghost ball and contact points, I just was looking into a system to double check my aim if I am uncertain.

I believe drivermaker and fred use his methods, do you guys know how to use the 2 angle method?

Howdy,
Take that issue to CCB ( Billiards Digest.Com) and many of us here don`t care for that kind of topics.

It is not a fractional method at all and works very well I have been using it for about 6 months not. It is more of a stick aiming system.

Hey Vagabon, glad you don't care for it but some do and I don't remember a vote for a new moderator.

5railkick,

All of Hal's methods are very good, but I can't explain properly in writing how to do them. I, personally, abandoned contact point/contact point after learning his "small ball" system. How does it work? Well, I used it last night. Went through a 21 man tournament, lost one game, missed two shots (safety play not considered a shot). Not shabby for a crippled up old blind S.O.B.

There are 23 different systems he teaches. If you're sincerely interested in learning them, let me know via PM and I'll give you Hal's phone number. He charges nothing to teach you any or all of his aiming systems.

Later,
Bob

sounds interesting, i like to hear of the two angle system. I have read he uses the edges of the cueball to aim, at three spots on the objectball, 3 times 2 equals 6, 6 pockets. which broke everything down to me, Cole. TheConArtist'

I've been working on his center of the CB---right quarter of CB and ---left quarter of CB to edge of object ball for about a month and really like it. He has posted his # many times. It is 510-581-3010. If you call to learn no problem. If you call to argue he will rightfully blow you off. He is a gentleman and deserves respect for his willingness to share his knowledge.

I have also called Hal for advice and he was very kind and helpful. As mentioned before, don't call if you want to argue or are not willing to learn. Hal is full of knowledge and I really appreciated him taking his time to help a sorry dog like myself. I would also disagree with Vagabonds statement, it's pool related and many of us do like to discuss topics such as this one. Keep em coming..

I use his methods. You don't need ghostball and contact points. What others have said on this thread so far is on the mark about its effectiveness.
Just give him a call...you can't find a nicer guy. (if he likes you and you want to learn, not debate)

Hi,
My bad.I should not have said it.Recently there was( may be still is)extensive discussion on that topic on CCB which may be the longest thread.

Was there not enough information on the other forum?

BTW Fred...you did a PHENOMENOL job of fending off the critics, royally kicking some ass, and explaining whatever needed to be explained without going into too much on that thread. I only posted over there a couple of times, but I opted not to go any further because you were doing such a great job and I don't like controversy, name calling, and arguments.

I have NEVER understood why Hal or a variety of aiming methods that are just SO damn good and beneficial has been so maligned over the years, and it always seems to come from the same group of people...the science geeks, the newbies, and the guys that just can't shoot worth a damn to begin with who have NEVER done beans in their life when it comes to playing high quality pool or gambled heavily. It gets to a point of...WHO CARES...SCREW 'EM!!

Call Hal.
Drivermaker has his number.
Drivermaker is Hal's uncle.

Your first two sentences are good advice, but your last one is incorrect.

I have said a number of times..."Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle"....but I was referring only to you. :D

I can't seem to find where he talks about the 2 angle method, sorry.

Okay. He has several different systems. Some of them are based on only two angles: shallow and not shallow.

I'll PM you something for starters.

dunno if the pics gonna work...but for some reason I have a REALLY tough time with this shot. I think I'm gonna get ahold of Hal and see if his system can help me out with it

Going only by the WEI Table info you provided, try aiming the left quarter of the CB at the right edge of the OB with a center ball hit. Note that the aim is NOT where you stroke the CB.
