Hammerhead Break Tip

Looking for a new break tip and considering putting a Hammerhead on my BK2 since I’m not a huge fan of the sound and feel of the standard tip. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I’ve never used a Hammerhead before.

I’ve used it. If you get it make sure to get the version 2 not the original cause there were issues with it staying on. It’s okay. Imo there are better tips on the market ( taom, samsara, etc ) but there’s nothing wrong with the hammerhead. Same guy who created the techno-dud tip I believe that Sky and John have used.

Heard the Taom is good, but can leave marks on the table, so think I’m gonna pass on that one. What about the Samsara do you find better than Hammerhead?

I've been using one for several months now.

I feel that if you want a White Diamond style break tip, these are great. I tried a White Diamond and liked it, but decided to throw a HH2 onto my order at Outsville. I think the HH2 is a bit better. It feels very close, but the feel is less muted than the WD. WD is great, but it feels kind of muted. HH2 is very similar, but feels a bit more crisp.

One thing that I'm not a huge fan of is that HH2 and WD both kind of compress after a while. I rough them up with a Kamui Gator grip and both will readily hold chalk. The WD gets compacted and smooth a bit quicker than the HH2. It's not really a fault, I can restore them to the texture I like with a few seconds of rolling on the Gator Grip. I wish they didn't get compacted, but it's the nature of the material, it even happens with leather. Very small "gripe" but it is something. Even after this slight smoothing happens they both hold chalk well.

Other than that small thing, I've found the HH2 to be a great break and jump tip with slightly better feedback than the WD. They are both great with the slight edge going to the HH2.

I'm actually curious about the new Kamui Sai break tip. I gave up on Kamui a long time ago but the Sai is calling to me. I'll probably try it as I'm still sort of experimenting with my jump/break cue.

Haven't used the hammerhead but I have used the samsara. Comparing it to the samsara is just to hard in my opinion can't really control the cueball as well kinda like the bullet proof tip also. Kamui can feel it all through the cue hits just really well an grabs the cueball better
