Handicapped players

I played a gentleman today who had MS. He was confined to a wheelchair and used a bridge attached to the end of his cue with rollers on the bottom. It worked ok but there must be a better device out there for players who still love to play. We played for about two hrs and if he had a better device to help him, I think it would have been much less frustrating. Has anyone here ever played someone with a severe handicap and if so were you able to come up with a easier way for them to play. I realize there may not be much out there to assist them, although I've thought about buying a stick with the cue attached to the end to give him to try.
Any thought or experience?

I have no idea who runs it, but I have heard reference made to a wheelchair league on more than one ocassion. I myself have played a few people confined to chairs. What impressed me was the inovation each of these individuals used to fabricate their respective "devices". No two were the same, yet each one allowed the user to accomplish most if not all of their intended shots. I'm sure someone here has knowledge of the wheelchair league......shouldn't take long to get some responses......Dan

Great post. I. too, have played wheelchair bound players. I do not know of any devices however. My thought is that these players, with or without devices to shoot with, might greatly benefit from a higher base to shoot from. Some sort of pool booster seat? A much higher wheelchair?

Am I out to lunch? Has anyone tried?
