I just had a positive experience with McDermott customer service. It may seem like a small thing to a lot of you, but it left me with a good feeling.
Last week, in a moment of frustration, I hit the butt of my McDermott into the floor during a game when I wasn't playing well.
The butt cap shattered into about 4 pieces (It's made of plastic, and after about 15 years, I guess it got a bit brittle).
Regardless, it was my fault.
Although they have a lifetime warrantee on thier cues, my self inflicted damage definately didn't fall under it's coverage.
The next day I emailed McDermott to find out where I could get another one locally, or to order one from them.
The customer service mgr, Jayme, returned the email & said they would send me one at no charge.
Today I recieved it, and am a happy camper.
I know the cap probably only cost less than a dollar, but it also took time to process, plus packing and postage to get it to me.
In a time when a lot of businesses are watching every penny, and some are looking to bend you over when given a chance, this is refreshing.
Like I said earlier, this may seem like small potatoes to some of you, but it's something I appreciate.
