Harbor Freight 3" Rotary Table

I recently purchased a HF 3" rotary table that I plan to convert to stepper control for my CNC. The first thing I wanted to do was disassemble the table to clean it and check for any burrs on the gearing. When I removed the allen head screw from the back (bottom) of the table base, I expected the table to simply pull off the base. However, it remains tightly in place. I even tried lightly tapping from the back and it doesn't want to budge. My guess is one of two things.

1) A burr or chip got wedged in the bearing ID of the base when the table was assembled and that's why the table is so tightly held into the bearing. In that case, I'll return it and get another.

2) The table is actually press fit into the bearing and I'll need to press it out. In that case, I'll need to find a press:embarrassed2:

Anybody have one of these that can tell me what I'm up against?

Oh well.....

I bought one, and mine is the same way, pressed on!

Thanks Larry!

I figured that would be the case:frown:

Well, if I'm going to have to get an arbor press, I guess I'll put in a better bearing while I'm at it.

I've got a 20 ton press you can use. Just drop on by.

I must admit that I've been guilty of following the "if it doesn't work, get a bigger hammer" school of thought, but even I have my limits:p
