Hard Maple

My suggestion would be to sell some 31 or 32 inch shafts.

Hey Chris, do you and I have the same shaft wood supplier? Maybe I'm the reason you can't get enough shaft wood from your supplier.

Who knows, My guy dosen't really sell to other cuemakers as far as I know. I think we need to pool our money and buy a maple grove up in canada. Yeah, thats the ticket. Chris.

What kinds of quantities are you buying / month / year? When I start doing this I want to have enough stock so I don't get caught with my pants down. Granted I know it depends on the quality. Also do you buy squares, rounds, 1st turns stabilized or un-stabilized? Any input would be great.
I personally prefer boards because I can watch them from the beginning.
Check on the 31 s and 32 s . 32 s I can do in squares I am not sure if they will fit in my machine.

I buy squares and on occasion rounds. I generally buy between 200 - 400 per year. It reallydepends on how much contract work I have coming in. I myself use only around 100 - 150 per year for my cues after pulling all defects. I get my squares in random legenths usally between 30 and 32 inches. Dowels are all 30 inches. I personally prefer squares as it allows more view of the grain structure of each piece. Chris.

I usually buy 20 to 100 at a time and use 100 to 150 a year. I bought 31 to 32 inch squares in the past. Last year the supplier I buy most of my shaft wood from started selling 30 inch dowels. Dowel or square doesn't make a lot of difference to me.
