Hard playing tips

Depends

That is up to the shooter and it varies. SVB was and may still be using a hard Kamui Brown tip, Reyes likes Elk Masters, I like Black Kamui mediums on regular maple shafts and softs on my OB Classic shaft. My buddy likes the softer Onyx tip. Your just going to have to try a few and see what works for you. Have fun!
 
Hard enough it requires little maintenance,
Soft enough it holds chalk well.

For me, its 80-83 on the durrometer.
 
I like Onyx also. They claim medium hardness but they don't need any maintenance to speak of. Unbelievable! Never had mushrooming or glazing issues.

Reason I ask is becouse I have like 4 different hard tips they all hold chalk well and play different, one is kind of like is made out of sand I don't think it will ever glase, the rest are kind that is made of fibers wath your gys think?..

If you like it/them, stick with them. If not you have other options.

Going to assume you mean on a Shore A like used on Pool Dawgs site... Shore A a Samsara is over 95 on that scale... It is an 85 on a Shore D Scale 83 would be a super hard and in 80-83 you might only find the Hirano and The Kamui II Hard? I Have no idea what a Kamui II is..... I know the traingle and triumph are not near that hard compared to the others.... It's just that ShoreA is the wrong spring pressure and foot shape to use on leather tips.....

As far as "hard" the 2 big factors will be sound and grip without the ability to test COR...

Pick the one you have with the best grip and the one you have with the crispest sound and go with those 2...... Being hard neither should mushroom or be that prone to gralzing.....
