Hard Times

This is absurd......bailing out a business is stupid.......

But...........losing another pool hall because of this pending obvious loss of business is even dumber........

Anyone that ponies up money should get free pool ....for some period of time.......make it $100 bucks per person and you play free for 3 or 6 or X months.
Don't sweat over the math thing......just mull over the notion of compensating the people that might donate.......you really must reward them for saving the pool hall.

I'm going to bump this thread up... went to HT yesterday, Sunday... Labor Day weekend,
to play some one pocket, regular nine ball tournament going on... NO A/C.
None... nada.. they set up some box fans in the tournament side... really?

I'll try talking to the owner and see about a crowd-funding thing. Stay tuned.

I was there earlier this year for the HT 10 ball open and the AC was actually working just fine. Last year I went for the same tournament and the AC was either broken or just not being used so I left after an hour because a few box fans doesn't cut it. Ridiculous.

Hot Times

My posts about Hard Times are meant as a motivator for the owners/us to come up with something to help solve the problem. NO ONE wants to see HT go under... in my mind it's still the #1 serious pool hall in L.A.

Maybe it's a chicken/egg thing... more customers, more money for improvements---make the improvements, get more players.

Bava- I like it... give the guys that post up for the A/C a gift card/credit towards table time.

SVT- spot on... I remember that 10 ball tournament... it was OK, not super humid.. this weekend.. ridiculous... guys playing one hole in shorts and wifebeaters. And forget it on the other side... I've seen guys try to play three cushion for a half hour, quits.

Again, I think they're probably riding out the summer and heat wave without an A/C upgrade or fix.
