I just prchased some phenolic tip and installed Two of them on Break Cues, But they keep flying of the cues. I had never have this problem with any kind of tips before. Also I used a special glue for tough tip but still have the same problem. Is there a deferent procedures for gluing phenolic or hard tips ?

I am using Micro Cue Smith II lathe

And they will continue to fly off. Thats why most makers have gone the way of the one piece tip/ferrule combo. No fear of losing a tip at a crucial time. Buy the one piece tip/ferrule combo next time. If you can not find any, PM me, I have tons. I have the phenolic and the even better option the canvas resin.
If you must use what you have...
...then make sure both the ferrule face & tip back are scuffed to the extreme. Then instead of your special glue...or any glue...use JB Weld's JB KWIK. Its a 2 part you'll have to mix. Then let the tip set with pressure overnight for best results. This is the way that I did them before my current method. Some have been on for years this way...so you may have good results. I did though have a few occasionally come off...which to me is totally unacceptable. Thats why now if I don't use the 1pc combo, I make my own tips with a threaded stem that I then thread down into the ferrule. I have never had one come off when using the stem method. Hope this helps.

I don't know what glue your using, but I have good luck with Locktite superglue gell. I don't install many phenolec tips anymore, everyone wants the one piece ferrule that I make myself.

My customers have given feedback on what is working for them. The top super glue choice seems to be Loctite Professional with Loctite Super Glue Gel and Loctite 454 being second choices. If you have the time the slower epoxies (not five minute) and Lords contact cement are also holding up well. The bad part about Lord cement is that the shelf life is very short once you open the can. The type of ferrule you are gluing to make a lot of difference also.

I have had good luck with the stem method also that Varney is talking about. JB Qwik is the only glue to use, but let it set a while like he said. Varney Cues, PM me with pricing and pics of the Ferrule/tip combo please.
