you will bring in more revenue from your tables if they are quarter tables, especially during tournaments. if the tournament players have payed only $10 or $15 dollars for greens fee and they take up most of your tables for most of the weekend you can easily see how you are hard pressed to break even on tournament weekends. at the placed i managed we have only timed tables so we offered memberships with discounted rates for regulars. 25% off pool time, 10% off alcohol/food and 15% off everything else. $50 per year for membership and if they have played at least 200 hours in the past year the renewal is free. we also allow our team captains to play on our valley bar boxes for free mon.- thurs. until 10 pm. weekend afternoons are slow so on saturdays from 3pm til 6pm it is a flat fee of $7 and sun. from 3pm til 6pm is free. this really picked up the weekend afternoon crowd. we also offer flat rate pool play. sunday -thursday from 11pm til 2am is only $20 to rent the table no matter the # of players. if you don't have your own cue we rent our house cues for a flat fee of a dollar.afternoon rates are lower than the evening rates by a couple of bucks and that also made a difference with the afternoon crowd. but if you want to make a million bucks you will have to offer alcohol/food. you can do other things to bring up your sales of course and i utilized pool house manager software which allows you to do all this and more
