Can anyone tell me is hardtimes pool hall is the same hardtimes from the pool movie pool hall junkies just wondering because from the description everyone gave it looks exactly the same and also this line in the movie sounds like a dead giveaway although I am not sure, " are you looking for action i'll be at hardtimes table 4 tonight, can't miss me i'll be the one whipping your ass".

No, the pool room they used in the movie is in Utah. I do not know the name of it. They just used the name for the movie.
The very first Hard Times was in Costa Mesa, Ca. There was a ton of action there. Keith was at the top of his game back then. That was shut down and and Mike Markulles who owned Varsity Billiards in Norwalk opened up the Hard Times in Bellflower, Ca. in 1988 which is still open. Mike also ended up opening up a Hard Times in San Diego and in La Habra, Ca. which have both been shut down along with Varsity. Mike sold Hard Times Bellflower to Ken Thomason, then moved to northern Ca. and opened up the Hard Times in Sacramento.
Well tonight at Hard Times Bellflower we had Cliff Joyner, Dave Hemmah, Morro, Santos, and Mark Haddad hanging out. It looks like we will have some good action this weekend.

I highly doubt theres a tournament this weekend besides their usual small weekly sunday. Hopefully they will be there until next week for the 1st sunday of the month.

This Sunday there is a $1000 added at Shooters in Riverside.
There was some good action at Hard Times in Bellflower last night with two bad players playing for $2000. They quit hill hill. Should be something going on tonight with better players. Owner played Cliff some one pocket two nights ago getting a big spot and this one young player has been playing a few players for some good money. Should be good tonight.
