Harris Bluegrass rear extension

Hey guys... How would you add a removable 6" rear extension to a Bluegrass cue? It has a number inside the butt and sealed with epoxy.... Would hate to drill all of that out..... Any ideas? I have made several with a simple radial pin..... Just not on a cue that is sealed up with the number in it...

If I were to make an extension for a cue where the bottom was sealed. I would first think about whether that change would effect the future value of that cue. If it's sealed it would stay sealed. I would use a Predator extensions bumper and build to fit it. Your not really altering the construction of the cue. But it can be amazing what some people call altered.

I have seen 2 Blue Grass cues that someone had the inside of the phenolic threaded to accept a predator extension. I don't advise doing that though.

Don't even bother asking Richard because he won't do it. However, I may have a solution in the near future.

How near in the future? The ones I did, I put a piece of phenolic in the end of the butt and tapped for radial pin. Then I made the extension with radial pin.... Worked out great. But this one is numbered and sealed.... Just don't want to hurt the value..

And that would be the reason for the last sentence I posted.

If he uses the SW bumper, it has a 5/8 ( or a little less ) stem.
The extension should have that stem too ( a little looser ).
That's how I made my extensions when I was still using the SW plug type bumper.
