Midwest 9-Ball Billiards Tournament Prize Money to be $100,000
Greater Midwest Billiards 9 Ball Tournament will have the Largest Money Payout for a Billiards tournament in 2004.
DAYTON, Ohio- Meyer Entertainment Productions will sponsor the Largest Payout for a billiards tournament and it will be winners take all events with the winner receiving $100,000 USD.

The First Annual Greater Midwest Billiards 9-Ball event will take place in Dayton, Ohio November 8-12, 2004. Billiards Players are invited to display their skills for the top prize Cash Payout.

"This will be the Largest Money event in the Midwest and Possibly the whole United States for Non-Professional billiards Players. Said Lonnie Meyer, the Tournament Director.

Not only will this be the First event of this type for the Midwest, but the only tournament when you pay the entry fee you can play to win big Money in a Pool Tournament.

"All Pool Sharks who like to compete for some real money should be in Dayton, Ohio on November 8, to register for the Tournament." explained Meyer.

Those who wish to compete should register as soon as possible by calling +.1.937.830.2732. To be in the competition the entry fee is $175.00 USD.

"We expect Players from all over the United States, Europe and Asia to be in Attendance" said Meyer.

Mike Janis asked about this on RSB. Not much response though. They seem to be running it at the same time as the Glass City Open. Doesn't make much sense. I think Mike did some research on this outfit and found they are primarily into Bowling tournaments.

Eydie, I read on another pool-related discussion forum that this tourney is a "qualifier" for a larger event.

It is unbelievable that this group would schedule a tournament during the same week as the Glass City Open in Toledo, Ohio. :(

The Glass City Open pro tournament is November 10-14. The players meeting will be held the night before, November 9th, and there will be a buffet as well as pro players doing various exhibitions.

Are you coming to the GCO again this year? If so, I hope to see you there! :)

Midwest 9-Ball Billiards Tournament (PR edited for brevity, I don't think I altered any meaning - Dave)

...it will be winners take all events with the winner receiving $100,000 USD.
...
"This will (possibly) be the Largest Money event ... for Non-Professional billiards Players." (Lonnie Meyer)

I wonder who these folks consider 'Non-Professional billiards Players" ? For $100,000, I wonder what players might consider themselves "Non-Professional" ?

Hey Jennie!

I'm going to be in Vegas for the 9 Ball during Glass. I sure would like to be with you and Di instead. Have a few for me!

Someone that I know called last night and talked with a woman who id herself as Lonnie. She and the promoter an man are both named Lonnie, yes confussing but this is what she stated. She had no clue on anything from what type of tables were being used to how many people they expected. She stated that the tournament was being played at a bar called "8 Ball and Wings" in Dayton and that the $100,000 was giuaranteed regardless of how many people showed up. Interesting huh!

Anyway she said that this Lonnie Meyer who is the TD could ONLY be reached VIA e-mail at Lonniemeyer1062@yahoo.com This is the only way to get info. They e-mailed last night and as of today no word back from this untraceable e-mail address. Buyer BEWARE!

So my friends be careful
