I see this term used sometimes on ebay auctions. Glass Fiber Carbon shaft.

Are these shafts garbage, or what?

Are they like those old garbage fiber glass cues, that you woukd see on Cuetec for example, or are they something else?

Has anyone here ever tried one out? Are they any good, for playing?

Thanks for any thoughts.

I thought hybrid shafts were wood and carbon fiber or wood and fiberglass, but now there is fiberglass and carbon fiber. Viper and GSE sell them .

Rhino's Evo brand comes with a shaft that they call that. It's OK. Makes a hell of a break shaft.

Edit to add: Rhino also made a G shaft that was fiberglass. That's what I was referring to.

I suspect Evo developed this hybrid cue to make a low-price, indestructible, consistent quality cue. Its us at AZ who want to know more about the technology. Evo is like a lot of companies --- its hard to tell what the cue is. Its website describes the hybrid cue sparingly even though there is probably an interesting story on this technology advancement. Its disclosure is more like they may be embarassed or its a truth-in-advertising requirement.
