HAS ANYONE TRIED REFINISHING THE TOP RAILS ON A Gold Crown III?

What kind of refinishing options are there? I keep thinking about having a carpenter (a really really great carpenter if I could find one) make completely new ones out of solid wood to match the sides/aprons/legs etc (mine aren't painted) .

I think pooltable911 said he does the laminate replacement. I would give him a call.

I want to do the same thing to mine since I have stripped my aprons to bare wood and applied poly to it and now I want my top rails to match my aprons and pedestal legs. If I was to do it, I would go with a lighter laminate.
If you plan on doing it yourself be careful when removing the laminate that you don't tear up the wood underneath it. I would pry a little at a time and using a heat gun to soften up the contact cement while prying the laminate.;)
