I have been practicing this drill as well as line-up. This clock drill is difficult!
I would like to know if anyone else does this drill on a regular basis?

Decent enough drill i suppose. Practice routines tend to be the domaim of those with their own tables and those who put in a lot of table time. Majority of us practice merely by playing with a partner as it can be quite an expense on ones lonesome.

Take me for example, I'm 51 and have never tried any "drill" until this last year and that's only because i've retired and my club offers 5 hrs for a fiver during a weekday.

Understood Wity. I am lucky enough to have a table, and I do put it in some time playing. Practice does become boring though. However, it does help bring your game up. I do practice quite a bit of line-up too.

Went out with a girl when at school whose old man had a full sized table at home. She dumped me after a couple of weeks, but hey I cant blame her I never took her out anywhere I was the stay in type :D

drills

the best drill i have done is a simple black/red drill. With the black on its spot, stagger 8 reds above it, kind of like a ladder, pot the red, black, and get shape on the next red to get the correct angle on the black. This develops a ton of touch and feel for the important scoring opportunities.

Ive worked with Tom Kollins quite a bit, and he uses this drill to focus his touch in.

Is this the one? I have not practiced this one yet......................I will give it a try.

tourney

yeah, it was a good showing, unfortunately I didn't get a roll the first day to save my life. I played in the last three opens and did better in those lol.

I ended up officiating the quarter, semi and finals though.

Yep................I was there and you officiated my match against Paul on Sunday!

aha

Mike! didnt put it together, see your signed up for the April handicapped, should be a good event.

Another good one to try is a very simple one.

Simply put a ball on the black spot, pot the ball and play position to pot another ball from the black spot as though you were playing English billiards. Try to make a billiards century using red ball play (assuming the rules didn't state that the red goes on the blue spot every second pot).

When that gets too easy, place the black and pink on their spots. Pot the pink and play position for the black. Pot the black playing position for the pink, repeat.

Here are some cool vids of Hendry, Higgins and Selby practicing. It's nice seeing them miss ;)
