search earl strickland, then efren reyes on this site and see how many more threads pop up on earl. I personally would rather watch Efren, only because the time left that he will be playing is likely shorter than Earl. However, I garruntee you, you set up Earl vs Any one, and Efren against any one, Earl will take the gold ring.
FACT OF LIFE>>> People want some one to root against. Especially Americans. i.e. > Lebron James. Do you think more people tuned in to the NBA finals to root for OKC or against Lebron.
If you want to make a "Great Post/ Argument" it should be not that Earl is bad for the sport. It should be that we need to create a different kind of drama, so as to pull the attention in on pool in a different light. People want drama. They need a villon to root against. So many, already established, sports have proven when there is some one to root against, or some form of drama viewership goes up.
DO YOU REALLY THINK ANY ONE WOULD WATCH THE OLYMPICS IF IT WAS ONLY AMERICA IN THEM??? (it needs the drama of other countries competing)
Get it through your skulls, pool is boring to the masses. It needs a catalyst to draw them in. Earl could be and is that mess.
