I just received my sanding mandrels from John Rocker of Rocket Cues. Wow, the workmanship is top notch. The fit and finish is beyond spot on, and his price is well worth it, can't believe I didn't get some sooner.

If you are thinking about getting some made, call John you wont be disappointed.

i have thought of getting a set. did you buy one or two sizes?

I bought one size for now, I might get a smaller size later for now its my finish size. I will cut a few thousands smaller and build finish over then sand again to finish.

That is how I do it. John was set up on my row at the Expo last month and I saw a set of his mandrels and they did look nice.

Is there one size that most people use for the finish set?
What would be the most common size?

Finish size in general could be anywhere between .835 to .850. Im finishing at .840. I finished one cue at .820 for a customer but I had to mess with the shaft taper to much, wont do that again unless I have to.
