Having Trouble Banking

I'm having quite a lot of problems with banking at the moment, but I can't for the life of me think why I should listen to the advice I've been getting from so called pool players. The last person I would take advice from is a professional pool player. I mean, how does that go?

Q - Excuse me, could you tell me how I can ameliorate my loan?
A - Err... Just leave it under the table squire.

Buy this book, read it again and again and again, practice, sleep...practice, sleep. Problem solved. Of course DO NOT tell your friends you read the book or let them see you practice, go to the pool room across town where nobody knows you.
Then your friends will all Hate you, but do just like my boy Efren!!!!!
After making a great bank shot, shrug your shoulders and say" I got Lucky":D :D :D :D

I used to have trouble banking and then my bank supplied me with software that allowed me to make most of my transaqctions online from the comfort of my own home. Check with your bank for similar products. :D

Captain Hook...GREAT advice re: the book...but let me supplement it a little.

There are all kinds of systems but if you are blessed with the ability to VIZUALIZE angles (were you any good at highschool geometry??) then, once the systems/techniques give you a CLUE how to make the shot...then you will eventually "internalize" the systems and will use them "consciously" on only fairly rare occasions because you will be able to SEE whether the angle...as the balls lay...is going to produce a short or long outcome and you will know what to do to "make it go."

I start every practice session with cross-side banks by setting the shot up so it LOOKS on to me and then I shoot it. You will develop a pattern of coming up long or short when you THINK the shot is on...then you correct yourself...and once you do that a few billion times a shot that LOOKS on will BE on.

Then just keep increasing the angle until "on" is frozen in your visual memory and shot that angle a few billion times....etc.

Some people just can't see the angles...which is no criticism...people's brains just work differently...and I suppose they need to stay with using their favorite "system" forever.

But...unless you are interested in becoming a competitive bank pool player DO NOT spend TOO much time relative to practicing your other skills because actual banking situations come up in quite a small percentage of racks.

Also the Monk Tapes Series has 3 Tape on Banking & Kicking. Kind of pricy, but maybe you could borrow em from someone....

The Danny Basavich "Clock System and Banking Secrets" DVD is only $29.95 and I enjoyed it and learned a little something. I did not feel ripped off, and the clock system was great. You have to overcome inertia, which means, do something even if it is wrong. Practice.
