Tom Vegh (800-421-2838) bought out an American pool cue cue manufacturer and has for sale a lot of good cue making parts.
(no shaft wood ... dern it)
I like the black joint collars he is selling as it saves me time not halving to cut them myself.
He has some nicely made 3/8 x 10 joint pins 8 for under $10.
He also has some inexpensive plain maple / birdseye maple rounds that are finger jointed under what would be the wrap area.
This stuff is for sale on eBay under "cue parts" but if you want larger lots then give Tom a call.
The cue blanks I bought from him are tight grained old groth maple (see photo).
Out of the 12 pieces I bought only 3 were nice birdseye and the rest were B grade figured but for the price I paid I aint kicking one bit.
They will make great test blanks for new inlays and will end up as a decent cue as well.
I am a bit suprised some cuemaker has not already went and bought the whole lot from him. I heard one did drive up there and bought 900 of them.
