Heater in Sogaards

You should be able to feel some heat underneath if the system is working. I'm assuming the heating wire is simply stapled to a board and pinned up against the slate. The board should be warm by now.

Slate is not a conductor so to heat up a hunk of rock that's 50mm or so thick will take some time as stated above.
 
Give it time!, it takes about 8 hrs. to get to the desired temperture. Originally my setting was set on 3, assuming you have the original thermostat 3 may end up being too hot. On the 3 setting the temperture of my table was too hot, about 88', I am told that the temp should be somewhere between 80 and 85 degrees and thats where mine is currently on the number one setting. I am told that Soren Sogaard has a digital device that offers temp. and time lapse settings. I think Jamie Sibley has that device!

working well so took a lot of time before I even felt minimum temp rise in slates. Thanks for your comments, always helpful
