Heavy Jump/Break Cue Feasibility

So, I've had this idea rolling around in my head for a while and would like your guys' opinions on how feasible something like this would be.

My buddy has a Jacoby Heavy Hitter break cue and I love that thing. I barely have to swing it and the rack explodes. I also like the idea of Jump/Break combo cues. But it's my understanding that as far as jump cues go, lighter is better. That may be a massive generalization, but you probably get my point.

Anyway, how feasible/practical would it be to make the jump part of the cue like normal, but make the handle/butt section extra heavy by introducing a combination pin/weight bolt to keep the weight at the front of the handle area? It would essentially be like the bolt that goes in the A joint of most short splice cues. But instead of being a single thread, part of it would be permanently threaded into the grip/hand section and the other part would be like a normal joint pin that threads into the jump section so it can be taken apart for jumping.

You are overcomplicating things to the n'th degree.
Get a separate jump and break cue, it's always the the best option anyways. A jump/break combo cue will always skew towards making jumping easy, which means it's difficult to have a long follow through with a closed grip and a thicker shaft than strictly necessary for breaking. The tips are different as well. Most of my customers like a hard leather tip like Samsara, Kamui SAI etc. While those work for jump cues as well, I feel a tip like Horo White Storm, Taom 2.0 and similar tips work best for jumping.

I recently tired a Samsara on my jump cue and I think it plays like a turd. It would probably be perfect for a break cue. IMO it gets too much spin for a jump cue and it feels slightly muted compared to the synthetic jump tips.

Your advice is spot on perfect. A separate jump and break cue is the way to go. A combo isn't the best of both worlds, it's just kind of a compromise.

You can do whatever you want if you define it, then do it.
You could make a quick release screw like McDermott did, but use a longer screw to get more weight,
Most 3/8x16 taps are 6 inches long, then make a brass insert for it.
As for tips,
Can of worms,
I want to suggest but I don't want to suggest!
Maybe I'll send you a message seeing that's becoming a thing again!

I wonder if Mr. Howerton could delete my history of post, then instead of trying to help everyone, I could pick and choose.
LMFAO

I'm not really looking to have one made. I've just had the idea floating around in my head for a while and knew that this was the place to get the most knowledgeable answers concerning whether it's realistically doable and/or practical.

And I'll be the first to agree that dedicated jumpers and breakers are usually going to be better than a jump/break combo. But there's obviously a demand for the combination because plenty of cue makers and companies have sold and continue to sell them. People like the convenience of not having to tote around a dedicated jump cue. As far as combining the J/B pin and the weight bolt goes, it seems like there are also plenty of players who prefer their cues to be more forward weighted. And I can't help but think moving the weight to the front of the grip area would keep the cue from being butt heavy.

It's been done.
And there's a tip/ferrule combo that does both
I've been doing it for a long time for Players on thier existing Cues.
